Intro Guide to Home Equipment Swaps for Online Mind-Body Classes.

This series is to support you while getting started with our online Yoga, Pilates and Barre classes. It will share equipment swap ideas for those that you may not own with some things that maybe laying around the house. Additionally, these posts will share recommendations when purchasing a piece of equipment.
First off, you should know that most, if not all, of our online classes can be done without any equipment. You may choose not to use any props, especially as you first start out. Add them as you see which ones are right for you.
So, why use Props?
Using props are a great way to enhance your workout by increasing the work load as your body become stronger and to add variety and a bit of fun. Sometimes props are used to awaken sleepy muscles (as to not over work other muscles) creating muscular balance and also to keep you safe during the movements.

Why was this guide created?
We know that right now equipment is a little hard to get with the high demand of most people working out from home these days. But we don't want anything holding you back from doing something good for yourself, so this is why this guide was created.

Some of these swaps come from our very own Wellness Begins at OM community (that you are now a part of)! It's been fun and interesting to see what substitutes you guys are coming up with. If you would like to contribute to the swaps list, please do so, as we are a community that is built on supporting and helping one another!
If you are doing an equipment swap for any online Zoom class, be sure to tell the instructor what your swaps are during check in, so they can show you how to use that particular swap as we move throughout class.
As always, be mindful as you move and use caution with your swaps. We want the props to enhance our fitness, not cause roadblocks or injury.
